Student Services Supervisor

Primary Purpose

The Student Services Supervisor is responsible for developing an environment that creates excellent food services for students.  Assists the Student Services Manager with the overall activities of the Cafeteria operation, including preparation and service.

The Student Services Supervisor will be supervising TES two cafeterias. The job holder will be responsible for all aspects of food services on cafeteria inclusive of: spaces assigned for dining; interacting with the cafeteria vendor; ensuring contracts are being adhered ;ensuring operates on a self-sufficient financial footing; food choices are healthy and varied; monitoring the safety/sanitary situation in the kitchen, serving area, and dining area; and establishing that the students are satisfied with food services offered at the cafeteria. 

To assist the Student Services Manager in managing the School Transportation business, CCA administration operations and the uniform shop.

Leadership and Supervisory Responsibilities

• Line manages about 15-20 part-time cafeteria staff in the kitchens.
• Line manages Student Services  (Cafetaria) Officer. 

Working Relationships and Contacts

• Has contact with TES Staff, students, parents, vendors, and outsourcing teachers

Cafeteria Management: 

• Planning and managing the Cafeteria as appropriate to achieve student, parent and staff satisfaction, quality service, and compliance with TES policies and procedures and local regulations while meeting self-sufficient financial goals; 
• Maintaining a high level of food quality & service in the Cafeteria;
• Managing the service of the Cafeteria that includes managing the Student Services Officer and workers so they maintain the sequence of service; 
• Working closely with the food vendor and the nutritionist to ensure a high quality of food presentation;  
• Managing and reviewing all vendors and contractors;  
• Responding to key stakeholders, needs issues, comments and problems to ensure a quality experience;
• Monitoring proper set-up, service, sanitation and clearing of tables and spaces in the Cafeteria and food service

Finance control:

• Overseeing the billing and payment procedures related to the Cafeteria services;  
• Managing controllable expenses forarea of responsibility;
• Managing the monthly financial reports and statement to the finance department and other stakeholders

People and Customer Services

• Supervising cafeteria operations during mealtimes, including preparation, serving and distribution of food, as well as kitchen cleaning:
• Managing the personnel in the Cafeteria in order to attract, retain and motivate the employees; hire, train, develop, empower, coach, counsel, conduct performance reviews, resolve problems, provide open communications and recommend discipline appropriate.

Student Services projects or other assignments

• Assisting the Student Services Manager in managing the School Transportation business & CCA administration operations and the uniform shop; 
• Performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and experience

• 5+ years of proven experience working in a similar role (Restaurant Manager, Hospitality Manager, etc.)
• Experience working as a team leader or management
• Bachelor’s degree in business or hospitality management a plus
• Experience working with children would be desireable
