Overview

Taipei European School welcomes applicants for the above post, to take up the position in the British Primary Section of Taipei European School in August 2018.

We are looking for candidates whose dynamism, commitment, energy, professional expertise and experience qualify them to take on this exciting and challenging role. The successful candidate will be academically able, an excellent classroom teacher, an excellent communicator, capable of giving effective and inspiring leadership to staff, and will fully understand the commitment required of all staff in this busy and complex school.

Responsibilities

The Post
The Assistant Head will be responsible for key curriculum and learning initiatives, particular staff management and development and will play a key role in school development and raising academic standards.


The Assistant Head will:
- Supporting the Heads of Section as a member of the BLT (British Leadership Team)
- In conjunction with the other Assistant Heads being responsible for leading and managing the curriculum and assessment across Primary.
- Being responsible for welfare of the pupils.
- Taking responsibility for developing positive relationships with the parents.
- Taking responsibility for staff welfare.
The Assistant Head will carry out any additional responsibilities as reasonably requested by the Deputy Head and Head of Section.

Pay and Conditions
An attractive salary will be determined in accordance with the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate. Additional allowances will be given for accommodation, flights and relocation, as well as school fees for up to two children.

Qualifications

The Assistant Head should be the holder of appropriate qualifications for classroom teching (Education degree and/or degree and teaching certification). As a leading professional in education, the Assistant Head should be able to demonstrate that he/she is an effective and manager who challenges and support all staff and students to do their best through:

-Analytical thinking

-Positive action to improve the quality of students' learning

 

The Assistant Head is expected to have, or demonstrate the capacity to develop, skills and attributes in the following key areas deemed necessary for the position:
